String art was first invented at the end of the 19th century to make mathematics more accessible for children but as time went on, it morphed into the craft form we recognize today. A wooden board will be set up with a nail template to wrap the string around, thus creating beautiful patterns. These make lovely décor pieces or gifts for loved ones.
